Possum lounge collaborative work with Sara Lindsay, finalist in the Clarence furniture prize 2021, this represents the latest example of high value uses for plantation eucalypt.
This example was made from 22 year old plantation E. nitens as part of a research project targeting plantation stocks of eucalypt. The purpose was to assess the material’s properties and explore the commercial viability for use in high end manufacturing. This project proved with the correct pruning, thinning and modified drying schedules these timbers represent a viable addition to existing eucalypt species used in furniture and other high end manufacture.
